In August, our friends visited with their two children to meet our three cats. One child, a boy, was familiar with cats but had no direct experience, while the girl was fearful of cats scratching her.

Eventually, she petted the cats while someone held them. In the end, she held Avery, which was a big win. Most people don’t realize how sociable cats are.
